The Summer is installed in France and Europe and remains the most pleasant period to discover the country and to hunt antiques in all markets and historic towns, such as Paris and Lyon, but also Barjac, Uzes, Carpentras, etc…

As you can see, it is the return of the color with opposition of warm color with cold color (such as red and green or dark pink and green) as well as for the neo-classical styles than for the modern ones. The white stone and ivory remains also a must to create a feeling of big space. All natural material are appreciated as well as ethnic accessories giving a touch of authenticity to your decors. Also the contrast between natural material (such as cement) with sophisticated material (such as bright silk or crystal) give a theatrical effect which valorize each element together.
Finally, all antique style from the 18th and 19th centuries remain the mega trend while for the more modern touch, the high design from the 1950-1970 makes a big colorfull come back.
Enjoy your day.
As per the above print and report  published in the Figaro Magazine of last January 10th 2009 and as confirmed by most of famous interior-designers, antique dealers and auctioneers, the current trend and French touch is to associate authentic antique furniture with modern art and design.
That is a delicate approach for which the following advises are given :

The trend is no more longer in the cohesion of a same style like it was for the previous generations, it is now too formal for our actual expectations. We need to reflect our personality through our home decor. We are not from the past but from now, so therefore we  are influenced by the modernity and like to integrate nice pieces of modern art with our old family furniture and fine art reflecting our own roots and history but also our attractions for the current art and the actual comfort as well.
